Sombrero e´ paja

Scanned and digitally intervened, a discarded and traditional venezuelan hat made of natural fibers from different plants. The drawn lines are very similar to traditional Kariña (venezuelan ethnic group) cross wich represents integrity of man and all the states of existence among other things.





Madashishan

Scanned and digitally intervened, a piece of wood found in an illegal mining activity in the venezuelan jungle by hands of natives that dont have alternative but to incurr in mining in order to economically survive.Madashisan is the name of a shamanic object of Yekuana tribe used in rites as a weapon to fight with demons in the shamanic trip. Comparing both situations set questions about contemporary society and the oblivion of traditions.
