Omnia artificialis

2021

An investigation into artificial creation and the blurring boundaries between what is natural and what is manufactured. Drawing from a collection of over 2,000 fungal drawings and colonial Venezuelan botanical objects, the work uses AI-generated imagery and biological specimens to construct a speculative cabinet of curiosities where the artificial and the natural become indistinguishable — questioning the taxonomies and classification systems inherited from colonial science.
